About Remnant Freelancer

Remnant Freelancer (>REM<) is a community-maintained multiplayer mod for Freelancer (2003, Digital Anvil / Microsoft). REM extends the original game with a completely custom UI, new mission types, an independent crafting system, asteroid mining, character creation and much more – while staying true to the classic space-sim feeling.

The mod is free to play. You only need a working Freelancer installation (CD or backup copy) and the REM launcher, which handles everything else automatically.

Based on fl-guide.de – Parts of this wiki are ported from the original fl-guide.de (Hamburg City Server, 2013), adapted for the REM mod and updated for current content. Content licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

The Freelancer Universe

Freelancer takes place in the Sirius Sector, a region of space colonised by four great houses after the Nomad War. The sector consists of 48 star systems connected by jump gates and jump holes, home to hundreds of space stations, planets and asteroid fields.

REM uses the original Sirius universe as its foundation and extends it with new locations, hidden systems and modified faction relationships.
